As the largest municipal utility in eastern Germany, SachsenEnergie is helping to shape an intelligent energy transition. The company wanted to establish a process to continuously develop and evaluate innovative business ideas. The requirement: Realisable concepts instead of theoretical ideas.

Munich Public Utilities

Implementation and further development of the HandyParken app for the purchase of digital parking tickets.

 

Details

The challenge:  

In 2018, Munich Public Utilities was commissioned by the city of Munich to create a digital alternative to parking ticket machines. Project management support was required for the go-live, followed by ongoing development and maintenance of the app.  

The Solution:  

  • Support for the go-live of the app   

  • Continued development, proactive maintenance and ensuring long-term performance   

  • Implementation of additional features, including e-charging stations, construction sites and other public transport and sharing offers  

Added value:  

  • An app that runs smoothly and is an important part of Munich's mobility structure 

  • More than 50% of parking tickets in Munich are now purchased via the app  

  • High customer satisfaction ratings in the Apple and Google App Stores and various awards
