The finance and insurance industry is one of the pioneers in terms of the use of information technology. Existing and complex IT landscapes have to be modernised regularly. Increasing, highly complex and regulatory requirements make it particularly difficult to meet the high expectations of the customers with product and process innovations. Additionally, the whole value chain of both industries is influenced by digitalisation. They are constantly presented with new challenges, particularly with respect to modern digital customer communication, increasing pressure on costs or the automation of business processes. These challenges call for flexible IT solutions as well as a partner who is able to successfully implement them. We can be this partner for you. We can offer you tailor-made, competent consultancy services as well as intelligent solutions. Some of the projects we have supported include, for example:
Degussa Bank sees itself as a modern bank for private customers with a comprehensive service offer.
The Degussa Bank uses the internet as electronic sales channel since 2000. The existing appearance was continually further developed, however, is now technological outdated and inflexible.
The Bank would like to enhance the electronic sales channel strategically to be well positioned in the world wide web, to offer modern and customer friendly service und most of all increase the efficiency of the sales channel. To achieve this the content needed to be fundamentally reviewed and enhanced on a future-proof technical basis.
Based on the functional concept iteratec builds the portal architecture using Liferay portal server and CMS. iteratec adjusted the portal to the requirements of Degussa Bank and develops and enhances the Liferay portlets.
Being the portal integrator iteratec makes sure the iteratec components and the other components delivered by other providers are cleanly installed, integrated, tested and rolled out. For the implementation of the technical contents iteratec creates templates and frame elements and drafted editing processes adapted to the customers’ requirements including training for the editors.
The added value
The modern portal architecture enables implementation of the technical requirements with reasonable development expenditure. The electronic sales channel becomes significantly more flexible and individual. Products and campaigns can be customized to suit the various target groups.
Editorial content and information can be created and released quality secured and comprehensible. The architectural overall view of the total project ensures a steady project course and minimizes risk.
A major German bank for private customers and medium-sized enterprises.
German banks are faced with increasing revision activities of regulatory authorities. During such revisions, the focus can lie on the adherence to formal requirements such as programming guidelines for the software development. In this case it is not sufficient to have an established understanding of how programs are written. This understanding has to be documented. Code may be created and used in individual projects. Nevertheless uniformity between projects has to be strived for. A further aim is a clear distinction of mandatory rules and best practices or recommendations.
In collaboration with developers and other authorities within the bank we have collected existing programming guidelines as well as any practices proven and tested and in daily work. We have created and augmented the programming guidelines with examples and best practices and have documented them in a consistent manner. In this manner we have developed a set of rules which transparently presents current practices and have created comprehensible uniformity wherever required. The consistent form is a structured set of rules with policies of uniform structure. This allows users to quickly access the concentrated rules. Thus the programming guidelines are easily accessible and applicable. Furthermore, they are structured in a way to broadly allow tool-supported tests for compliance.
The added value
The participation of developers and authorities has promoted a wide distribution end enhanced acceptance of the programming guidelines in the bank. The programming guidelines address various aspects which lead to an efficient and economic software development, for instance:
