Digitalisation of Daimler’s production
Several apps, including associated web applications, were developed and operated to digitise production.
The challenge
Although many production process steps have so far been supported by IT, this has primarily been based on traditional ‘fat client’ desktop applications. For direct work on the production floor, apps and/or web applications for tablets and smartphones are required, which can be used and deployed directly on site by foremen, fitters and engineers.
As Wi-Fi and mobile network coverage are not available everywhere, these apps must be able to operate in offline mode – despite their inherent real-time capability – and synchronise with the server at a later time.
Our solution
