APPzumARZT
All preventive care appointments in one app—for the whole family

Greater awareness of health measures

With APPzumARZT, the Felix Burda Foundation and the Assmann Foundation for Prevention are raising awareness of preventive health measures. The app manages preventive healthcare for people of all ages, as it includes the preventive services offered by statutory health insurance providers. In addition, the app features health tests to estimate the risk of certain non-communicable diseases. iteratec has modernized the app’s technology and improved its design and user experience.

Healthcare made easy

Preventive checkups and vaccinations are crucial for preventing disease. To promote a healthier society, it is essential to take preventive measures in a timely manner and detect diseases in their early stages. However, many people are unaware of which services are covered by statutory health insurers. The APPzumARZT app presents preventive health measures in a clear, accessible format and makes them straightforward for the whole family to plan.

Originally developed about nine years ago, the app was to be technologically overhauled and, with a user-centred interface, reach an even broader audience.

We were immediately won over by the concept behind iteratec’s student lab. The young developers put their hearts and souls into the project, quickly embraced our challenge, and contributed numerous ideas: The result is a completely revamped APPzumARZT, a true prevention manager that makes staying healthy even easier. All you have to do is download the app yourself.

User-centered design

The completely revamped app, which also features a new design, offers a wide range of new features: a health test to determine your individual heart age, a glossary with detailed information on all preventive care services, an introductory tutorial, and more options for customizing profiles. During development, iteratec benefited from significant creative freedom, enabling the team to develop the best technological solution for APPzumARZT and focus entirely on user needs.

The intuitive operation, user-oriented design, and new features make the APPzumARZT a valued companion and provide access to free medical services—for a healthier society.

Thanks to the new app’s unified code base, operation and further development are significantly simpler and more cost-effective.

About the Felix Burda Foundation

The Felix Burda Foundation, based in Munich, was founded in 2001 by Dr. Christa Maar and publisher Prof. Dr. Hubert Burda and is named after their son, who died of colorectal cancer in 2001. Among the foundation’s well-known projects are the nationwide Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March and the Felix Burda Award, which honors outstanding commitment to colorectal cancer prevention. Using smart event tools and gadgets, the foundation brings colorectal cancer prevention to the public: Europe’s largest walk-through colon model fascinates visitors with its 20-meter length and as a virtual reality colon. The APPzumARZT app acts as a health butler, managing all statutory preventive care services for the entire family, and over 150,000 users per year alone test their personal risk online with the colorectal cancer quick check. The Felix Burda Foundation operates websites and social media channels and generates strong nationwide awareness for colorectal cancer prevention through annual, coordinated advertising and PR campaigns. The Felix Burda Foundation is a member of the Federal Government’s National Cancer Plan and the Federal Ministry of Research and Education’s National Decade Against Cancer. It is actively involved in the Board of Trustees of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Cancer Information Service.
